>>Is there a decreased internet speed on any of the computers, or a drain on any hardware if the proxy server computer/or gateway computer is having to route the data to two other IP addresses?<<

Dirk Hente answered 1/2 of this question. That is there is no slow down of a client computer when more than one computer shares an internet connection. Yes there will be drain on the hardware and a slow down of the other programs you run on your internet server. But based on what Dirk Hente says it doesn't appear to be significant. The time it takes to modify the header of each Internet packet is small.

I am also beginning to think you won't get a definitive answer to this question on Silicon Investor. Nobody on this thread has used the particular configuration you want to build. Other alternatives are go ahead and build the system and see how it performs. Or call InterNetJet and see if they will give you the name of a customer who has a system similar to what you want to build. Right now it appears that going through InerNetJet is the best way to find somebody with experience with a system like you want to build.
