ThrustMaster To Enter Video Game Controller Market
"...ThrustMaster...announced its intent to introduce a line of controller products for the Sony Playstation(TM) and the Nintendo 64(TM) video game console market. Together, PlayStation and Nintendo have an installed base of over 28 million units worldwide, representing an enormous opportunity for ThrustMaster. ThrustMaster looks to ship retail units of its new console line in the third quarter of 1998.
ThrustMaster plans to produce console controllers with the same high level of quality, realism and control which have made their current line of PC peripherals such landmark products. ''We believe ThrustMaster will prove to be a strong force in the console controller market,'' stated Ron Resnick, vice president of Marketing for ThrustMaster. The company plans to unveil the product line at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo, in May of 1998...ThrustMaster extensively researched the console market and found substantial growth projections for both console systems and peripherals. Creating a line of high-quality, precision game controllers with features geared towards console players is a strategic move for ThrustMaster's future growth...ThrustMaster will offer a broad product mix in its new line, beginning with racing wheels and innovative game pads.
