Mac Week Article on the importance of Metrowerks if Apple buys Be. Checkout macweek.com. The first two paragraph are listed below: Metrowerks Inc. is sitting on a development tool that might end up being next year's most important bit of code for Mac programmers. The software, a modified version of the PowerPlant application framework, moves large portions of Mac OS software over to BeOS. If Apple licenses some or all of Be Inc.'s operating system (see 11.04.96, Page 1), existing Mac applications will need to be rewritten to work with the BeOS elements. The modified PowerPlant could cut porting time dramatically, Metrowerks said, especially for programmers who already use its tools. Heeren
