I suspect the difference is in the cable modem connection I'm using, not the CPU. I don't use voice, so can't comment on that, but my overall performance also took a big jump when sliding DRAM prices let me upgrade from 16 MB to 40. I agree with shane. I don't see $1000 PC users upgrading for at least a year, probably 2, and when they do the processing power they want will still cost under $1000. Katherine
