First of all, I challenge you to find a popular game that actually uses MMX. I don't believe any exist. Second, you are correct that PII has a better FPU than a K6. However, the K6's disadvantage in this department will disappear with the introduction of the K6-2 and the release of 3DNow enabled drivers for Direct3D and OpenGL (coming in July and June, respectively).
