Crystallex initiates environmental foundation

Puerto Ordaz. - The Canadian transnational company Crystallex International Corp put into operation the Imataca Foundation, through its subsidiary in Venezuela, Venamo Miner, who, among other objectives, will support environmental policies.

The director of Crystallex and member of the board of directors of the Foundation Imataca, Enrique Tejera Paris, said that this organization also will generate activities destined to the social progress, economic and cultural of the mining populations of the State Bolivar.

Between the immediate plans of the foundation they appear the construction of a small hospital in the population of the Claritas, in the Sifontes Municipality (Bolivar) to attend the workers of the company, to members of the community and to offer support to the ambulatory premises.

The project will complement with the construction of a runway and the acquisition of an ambulance to serve to the workers as the mine Albino, located in kilometer 88. For the beginning of operations of this mine the authorization of the Ministry of Energy is only expected and Mines, which will generate more than 200 direct uses, said Tejera.

According to the director of Crystallex, the activities of the foundation are compatible with the legal activity mining, because the law forces the mining companies to replace the atmosphere, something that never the independent companies nor miners have fulfilled, ' but who Crystallex yes will fulfill ', Tejera Paris indicated.
