Are you long or short?

If long of course it is called a long straddle, if you are short - a short straddle. As I explained in my previous posting, long straddles are created in order to capture movement in a market that is expected to move however, the participant is unclear as to which way. Whereas a short straddle is created if you expect the market to stagnate, this position will capture profit as the option contracts decay (time).
