Nice of you to rerun the virginity story. Nothing speculative in that!

Look, all I'm saying is look for the qualifying information that accompanies ideas and theories. Don't say my statements are meant as facts when they are not intended as such. When I propose a theory, a speculative idea, you're going to see words like the following (we've been through this before): maybe.../perhaps.../...what if.../could it be.../it's possible.../wild guess.../etc.

Just like anyone else, I attempt to decipher what I know against what I don't know in order for me to make a judgment. Indeed, it's a fact that this discussion thread exists expressly for this purpose.

If you're really that insistent on facts only, how do you explain that the negative campaign against Hayton resulted ONLY after the largescale shake-out of Softbank Interactive Marketing's top executives? Remember, when those SIM connections were intact everything was rosy, even for Wired. And it's a fact that Wired subsequently hired a former SIM staffer. But is this sufficient to create all for the anti-Hayton dribble? I don't think so.

Here's another fact: Money talks and can help drive a vision. And apparently, Hayton--presently, via the Netvest Capitol consortium--is where the money is at. Maybe there simply wasn't enough venture capital around to support his early efforts in the alternative energy business, and he and it failed. We'll learn later when and if he decides to tell is version of those events.

For now, you're left with one-sided interpretation--and that's not enough for me!

But advertising? Aleta, there's very big bucks around for it. And that's a fact, not speculation. He's also, by his early efforts, encountered the politics of experience and therefore is less likely to repeat mistakes that may have been made in the past.

PS: Oh, regarding your speculation. If you think mob money is behind Hayton, did the mob simply not have enough money to support his early ventures? If Hayton had the mob money behind him, I suspect he never would have gotten into those previous scrapes with the SEC. Besides, is or was the mob so conscious as to promote alternative energy? Were I you, I'd look for alternative sources for your speculation as to where this advertising money comes from.

Another possible hint for sources of money behind Zulu is the entertainment business. But guess what? That's just a wild guess on my part.
