I didn't say EVERYTHING he touches is "evil". But the tobacco issue is another whole topic for discussion. After reading all that I could get my hands on it's obvious to me, IMO, that he uses children mainly as political pawns to push his agendas-like a "human shield" kind of mentality. After all who's going to say they're against the kids?
I don't smoke, never have, and I'm genuinely repulsed by cigarette smoke. I have a generally low opinion of those that do, but it is legal and it is a choice people make fully knowing the risks. It's sort of like fast motorcycles, cars, boats, skydiving, skindiving, parasailing, trampolining, on and on. These are freedoms where we can choose to take the risk for the pleasure we derive from them. I believe in the 'slippery slope' theory where once they are successful with this money grab/victimization scheme then it will be on to what....high fat foods (heavy advertising to our kids), beer (heavy advertising to the young), etc. It can be easily shown how, even though alcohol advertising isn't legally directed toward children, it still makes it desirable to our kids (Joe Camel).
IMO people need to get off the victimization bandwagon and take responsibility for their own choices. Nobody takes a gun and forces people to smoke, drink, drive fast vehicles, and take unsafe risks. If they're so weak-willed as to be influenced by a commercial.... I choose to do high risk activities because they're enjoyable and that's a big part, of life....IMO only.
