Rob,

It could also mean that USWD has been approached by one or more serious buyers. Hiring an M&A firm is simply a smart way to ensure that any offers/deals are fair and structured properly. The firm they hired has an excellent reputation in the business and would not involve themselves with garbage.I think the stock could fetch $10/share. I would wager that HP is taking a close look at them and their technology. It would be a perfect fit, given their ownership of Verifone. HP is probably waiting to see them struggle to get a better price. I've heard that the GTE program is gaining momentum. The more boxes they place, the more legitimacy USWD will garner. I think there are a few thousand in place now. The Nynex/Bell Atlantic relationship should be favorable as well. That is if they don't run out of money in the process or can't find a way to finance production capacity to fill demand. There is no question that this is a risky stock, but in the $4 range, I believe it's a worthy concept stock that could be profitable if they execute their plan successfully (easier said than done).
Regards,
Rev
