Its a shame our schools aren't teaching children the scientific method and what it means.

This is my point exactly Dragonfly. You don't understand. I'm appealing to you about my passion for the truth. I am not unfamiliar with the scientific method and these so-called 'studies' did not utilize the scientific method as practiced and taught. If given enough time I can probably cite the resources, some from scientific journals, criticizing these 'studies' as being grossly inaccurate due to the fact they took existing studies and changed the standard deviation to the 90th percentile from the accepted 95th percentile. This has the effect of grossly altering the results. I don't have an agenda to protect the tobacco co.s but I do wish for only one thing - the truth and let us decide what to do with it. You see, I literally hate when either side of an issue distorts the truth/facts to better reflect their agenda in the name of good intentions. True, the right has/does do this but, today, the left's battle cry is good intentions which defines everything they do and stand for.

Please, just give us, the public, the facts and let us make a decision for ourselves what is best for us.

This is not meant to be a flame and I respect an honest discussion away from name calling.
