Susan, Ok I read that article and the press releases...

Read carefully the information about Camaelot's deal for DISTRIBUTION right for Digiphone in Europe. Danny bought a shell company in Europe and then made a deal between the shell (which he owns) to pay a sum in loan stock to Camelot ( which with his wife he owns controlling interest in). The price he paid himself was way over anything that he had been able to negotiate with any established, reputable European distributor. But this is old news...

I really do not see that this VOODOO type of business deal is going to change their situation much at all. In particular I do not think that it has any bearing on whether they ever become part of any group trying to hash out standardization issues.

Relative to your comment about the "whale". I think a bunch of small fish that do a good job are very welcome. This is how a free market works. It also gives us as consumers lots of choices. I do agree, however, that it is important that all of the products out there eventually achieve interoperability (the sooner...the better). I have about 15 phone applications on my machine right now. I find it to be ridiculous that I need to have that many software packages, just so I can talk to all of the people that I need/want to.

BTW has anyone heard anything about when a version of Digiphone will be available that incorporates the Lucent Technologies codec.

Phil
