IBM Europe has chosen the industry's leading thin client, the IBM Network
Station, as the primary desktop device for its employees in Europe. Over the next
several months, 8,100 IBM Network Stations will be installed in IBM locations in
10 countries, making it the largest corporate installation of network computers
(NCs) in Europe.

Other European customers include General Accident, a UK-based insurance
firm, which is installing 4,000 Network Stations.

According to a recent survey by Meta
Group Consulting of more than 50 multinationals, 87 percent predicted network
computers would comprise some part of their desktop clients, while 13 percent
predicted they would use NCs exclusively in the next three to five years.
