Bluetooth website - bluetooth.com

Some examples of how they envision using the technology are on the "user situations" page.

----->wireless connection between head mounted displays and the computer

Most of the examples involve wireless connection between a PC and a mobile phone or PC peripherals. $20 Bluetooth transceivers will be built into devices of the participating companies (late 1999, they say); data will automatically be synchronized between enabled devices within a range of about 10 meters. It will be like having a smart wireless modem operating in the background. Linking the primary display this way does not seem to be what they intend. The gross data rate of 1Mb/s may be too low for that.

An internet surfing application would use a wireless connection made through a mobile phone as an "internet bridge"; the web page would be viewed on a laptop display. This wouldn't be comparable to a hand-held portable viewer, such as the pocket browser proposed by Siemens or a cellphone with virtual display. WT
