Did anyone else see/hear Chris Mathews' outrageously inaccurate, incendiary soundbite (CNBC about 4:40 p.m. today) about China/Clinton/B. Schwartz? Can Mathews be sued for libel for intentional inaccuracies he's blasting across the airwaves about Bernard Schwartz? Mathews appears desperate to boost his ratings.
What's CNBC/GE's legal liability for allowing the deliberate dissemination of misinformation?
The point of Mathews bite was to plug his "China-gate" show at 8 p.m./CNBC tonight.
Generally, CM appears to use his show to vent his hysterical biases, and Hardball (Hairball'd be more accurate) is a consistent embarassment to CNBC/GE/Jack Welch, an insult to viewers and a scary low in the downward course of talk show "journalism."
CM's Hardball is a lawsuit in the making. Time for shareholders launch a class action suit against C.M. & others for broadcasting fraudulent information? Any lawyers on this board? Please respond. Thanks.
(I'm new to posting. But had to speak up about what's going on. Anyone know how I can attach my name to my message? Thanks.)
