Politics are not about actual guilt or innocense, it is about the appearance of impropriety.

I agree that Loral got waivers from Clinton and Bush. Also, the waivers in question by Clinton appear to have been made in accordance with a process, and consistent with policy.

I also agree that as a citizen, Schwartz should be allowed to donate to whom he chooses and in the amount he chooses, as should I.

I personally believe Loral will be cleared of wrongdoing at some point in time when the investigation is completed.

The problem here is the appearance that something was done wrong. And that hurts shareholders (including me) in the short-term.
