GM, All, One very scary article for tech bulls. Excerpts-- "May 27, 1998 Slower Growth of China's PC Sales Bode Poorly for Computer Makers" "In a report due Wednesday, analysts at market-research firm IDC Asia/Pacific say that in the first three months of this year, China's PC market posted its weakest growth since 1996. That could be an ill omen for high-tech giants fed on supercharged Asian growth." "The slower growth in China helped send unit sales of PCs in Asia, excluding Japan where sales are already shrinking rapidly, falling on an annual basis for the first time since such comparisons became available three years ago. More alarming: The value of Asia's PC market in the first quarter fell by almost a third, lopping roughly $1.4 billion off a market that this time last year earned the industry $5.3 billion in quarterly sales."
