Monopoly Domino Power

RE"Look at the deals the internet search engines get in: ..."

What will life be like without Netscape?:
If, and when, Microsoft uses its OS monopoly to create an Explorer browser monopoly for itself without having to compete for it with consumers, do you think that the search engine market will be next?

If Microsoft has an OS/Browser monopoly, will we be offered the choice of using a Microsoft search engine or none at all? Or, will Gates just gouge the existing search firms out of business thus forcing him buy one up at a fire sale price?

The more monopolies Gates can string together by precluding consumer choice, the cheaper he can offer Windows to consumers. Eventually it will be free, including the only software you will ever need or be exposed to. What a wonderful world.

One OS > One Browser > One Search Engine = Consumer Choice?
