In a way they are TC. If a short has to cover his margin/short, it will be required of him to cough up what the last quote was...so, 'marking' the tape serves a very real purpose...and yes, it being the same 300 shares is very relevant, moreso, it must be MM Hill-Thompson because of reasons I posted a week or so ago.
