Something stinks with this split. The price of ESVS did not drop in half this morning.

The press release said "effective immediately". That means that ESVS should trade ex-split today.

Perhaps they didn't state it correctly. There is a 3-day settlement and it seems that the earliest possible effective date might be tomorrow.

Either it was stated incorrectly (no big surprise...) or we now have proof positive that there is NO public float in ESVS. I'm assuming that it's the former, as the latter would require the cooperation of the market-makers to maintain the price of the stock, whom I don't think would want to risk the fallout from carrying-out such a bold deception.

I'd suggest that people call the IR company and ask on what date ESVS trades "ex-split". That is the day that it will open at 1/2 of it's previous price.

(I did try calling myself. When I called the 888 number, it rang, apparently forwarded to another number, rang, apparently forwarded to yet another number, and then I got a telco message saying that the number was disconnected. When I called the 617 number I got an operator who gave me Heather's voice mail.)
