George & Company,

Last year I made a post (4923) regarding Fidelity Magellan Fund. What can I say, yesterday I was stunned to discover that this fund has added Xoma to its monstrous list of holdings!

personal12.fidelity.com

Use your Adobe Acrobat reader to look at the Magellan Annual Report, dated March 1998. Go to page 17. Xoma, Inc. 3,030 shares.

This is an extremely small holding. If Magellan was going to invest in our company, you'd think they'd at least put in a million bucks. I'll assume this is just a start, and that they'll continue to add to their position in whatever manner they choose (a scheme that accumulates shares without propelling the stock price too much).

While I was at the Fidelity site, I also looked at their Fidelity Select Biotechnology portfolio. No Xoma.

Ed.
