BTW Bob, when I mentioned interest in ram compression was "waning for obvious reasons" I should not have been so presumptuous. The primary reasons are trade-offs in speed and reliability versus, faster, fatter and increasingly cheaper memory. Moreover, virtual memory does an excellent job of "compressing" ram such that only active code and data are loaded into memory. This is an oversimplification but I think you see what I'm getting at.
