>>Another consideration is June options, not just on COMS, but all stocks in general. I think the mkt will let them mostly expire worthless.<<

I'm not an options expert by any means, but there probably is
a lot more hedging using options by all the MMs who are trying
to lock in the tremendous profits they've made this year.

I think all this option action in the market will just add
to the volatility.

Right now, it seems to be that COMS is partly following the
market, not a lot of buying on the dips but a noticeable
amount. But whoever is buying, is content to let the market
drop when it wants to.

I'm trying to figure out what the last 2 hours or so
are going to be. Are we going to get more dumping like
yesterday, or buying on the dip. This will tell us
a lot (IMO) about the severity of the correction.

>>Earnings should be pretty close to expectations, as most have guided analyst lower and the stock prices have factored that in already.<<

Not much guidance from COMS. At the moment, the only clues
ANALysts can get is how much COMS doesn't say.

It seems like a earnings disappointment is being priced in
to the stock. But not so much COMS-specific, but Market-wide
disappointment, as VINMAN was relating to as far as PC
sales....

I think though that it's different with COMS as compared to
DELL, etc. - high expectations were present for DELL, or
some of the others, but COMS has not really had any high
expectations at the price it was 2-4 weeks ago.

>>Conference calls will be of the utmost importance. I just hope COMS
answers the questions that are hanging over it.<<

Yes, everybody is waiting for this, moreso than usual
because we can't seem to dig very concrete facts with the
present data available to the general public.

That's why, one has to approach the value of stock from a
longer term perspective; 6 months out. If you're absolutely
doing a trade expecting good earnings this quarter, you're
making a gamble - personally, I think there will be positive
news, but I don't have a lot of hard data to support this.

I'm hoping for a good report, but I'm mainly a long-term
trader, doing some occasionally trading here, so as not
to minimize my loses on this general market downward turn.

(didn't have to proof this, so I know there may be
some word jumbling - don't laugh too hard about it :-) )
