RE: what has Dell done in the last 5 months? This is not to say it won't happen, The way the article was presented, it appeared to me that many folks were cought off guard about a trend that has been very obvious for all of 1998 concerning PC prices and demand. DELL should not be trading at the levels has reached. As more and more news like this comes out, you will see more selling. I listened in on a confrence call today, I will sum up the call: Buy DELL, INTC, MSFT because after the noise calmes down, they are the best companies in the industry. No mention that INTC can or can not get revenues growing again. No mention that MSFT's EPS growth is deceleration. No mention that DELL is facing its most threatening competitive threat ever. Just buy them and lets tip-toe around the tough questions that we don't like the answer to. They blamed any weekness that anyone sees in any area on CPQ and IBM's channel inventory reduction. I think that scape goat is getting a little to much attention. Everyone thinks that once this problem is over at the end of the 2nd Q that Q3 will astound and amaze to the upside. Well, by the third Q, the whole AP will be in deep depression, and Europe will be weekening because of that. Here in the us, money is being diverted to Y2K instead of fancy new PCs that are more powerful than they need to be. Jim
