Joe, Let me see if I understand your post correctly. Your 120 MHz Pentium is fast enough for todays needs, but when you decide to upgrade, you plan to shell-out "2200 bucks" for a Pentium Pro instead of replacing the Pentium chip with either an AMD K6 or Cyrix M2 even though you should be able to buy these chips for less than a quarter of that price. That sounds logical to me!

Do me a favor, after you buy your new Pentium Pro System, I will take you old system off your hands for 50.00 and replace the Pentium Chip with a Cyrix M2 gladly.

How many 486 systems do you think were upgraded to 486 DX100 Systems instead of buying new Pentium 60 MHz systems?

Most Corporations like to get five years out of a PC investment, they will buy new PC's and upgrade old ones as well.

The Cyrix M2 and AMD K6 are both optimized to run 32-bit applications quickly as well as 16-bit applications, so no hard choice has to be made.
