Diana, it may be true but like the projections that show a nice rise in PC sales for Japan this year, we will just have to wait and see. Projections aren't always the most reliable things. Note too that it is very relevant to Apple that the IDC comment excludes Japan. Japan is really all that matters for Apple in Asia. We might see a G3 follow-through in Japan this quarter, as we saw in the US last quarter, especially if sales are primed by the first price cuts (as happened in the US). However, the dollar is rising so fast vs. the yen that this might put a damper on Japanese Mac buyers.

Any "man on the street" reports from our SI members in Japan?
