Joe, I am writing this note on my home PC, using an AMD 486 clock tripled 100 MHz running Windows 95 flawlessly. I didn't upgrade to a pentium because I invested in a very good graphics controller and as you are no doubt are aware, 486 I/O devices cannot be installed in Pentium Systems. My other components are reasonably not the very best.

When I do upgrade, it will be with a processor that runs both 16-bit and 32-bit applications effectively. It probably will not be an "Intel Inside" Pentium System because I will need a good high performance system capable of supporting the Pentium, K6 and the M2. Flexibility matters because I will need to support 16-bit software for quite some time. I don't think I am alone.
