I don't think it was you who was complaining but there is a lot of that going on on this thread. I read the last 50 posts or so and that's most of what there is.

My interpretation of deployment is: cablecos require a much large financial outlay to upgrade and they have started. Only one-way high speed connection.

It sounds like the telecos have started (are starting) and the expense of upgrading and time involved to upgrade is much smaller. I thought I read a review by John Dvorak recently that was VERY skeptical about the telecos moving quickly because it would undermine other parts of their business.

Do you have thoughts on how quickly the telecos may move and what internal financial factors are working against deployment. It does seem that if the throughput on a phone line is MUCH higher, the number of phone lines will be SIGNIFICANTLY less.

If the telecos delay too long, they're going to LOSE the race! Sure seems using POTS lines is the BEST way to go (for now!).
