DLL,
My apologies if I neglected to respond to a post from you last week. It was a blitz of posts, and looks as tho' I missed more than one.
As far as things said in the Bible re woman & man--no offense intended--but my mind has no interest whatsoever in analyzing its content. I am totally convinced it was written in ancient times by human beings in order to keep social order. The intention was to deceive the uneducated(women, slaves, children) into believing that this was gods word.
I believe you referred to the Jewish Torah(sp?). If the book is also claimed to be the word of god, my attitude towards it is exactly the same as towards the bible. Both books principal intentions were to keep those in authority at the time in complete control of the masses which included women, children, slaves & some other men. It was a very clever way to control people & make it look as tho' god was doing it. Therefore, I can't give even pleasant words contained therein any credence.
take care, Ann |
