Right on Walt. Software is insidiously usurping all available
CPU/memory/graphics bandwith. Most people don't even know it's
happening. But with every upgrade, every new app or game added
performance seems to diminish... RIGHT! you are dealing with code that is generally developed after the hardware you purchased on
faster machines. Wait till AGP apps start hitting full force
later this year.

Everybody has been saying "where's the killer apps" for as long
as I can remember. As if a group of apps is going to fall out
of the sky and suddenly require 2X the power. It just doesn't
work that way. It happens much slower, but it has, does and will continue to happen.

As you've noted, that 133Mhz performance with likely 66Mhz EDO memory
and a 33Mhz PCI video card is becoming quite sluggish under WIN95
and associated apps. Hey, try one of those 3D home design programs
you can buy at CompUSA for $49 if you really want to see how
poorly your system can perform<ggg>.

I've noticed something. I HAVE NOT SEEN A SINGLE BEAR WHO IS
INVOLVED DEVELOPING TECHNOLOGY FOR A LIVING. As an electrical engineer, chip designer, code developer ect. I wonder why that is?????
