bgg,
Re -- $8 billion/year companies simply don't grow at the rate of start-ups or mid-sized companies in hot markets. Kind of a law of nature.

You said it dude, Companies (high tech) P/E will match their growth rates, and Cisco's P/E is way way above its growth rate. However you should check out Microsoft, DELL and Lucent to see what their growth rates are.

Re -- Bay's strength lies...

Quit looking in the past. Shared hubs were 50% of revenue a year ago, now they are 27% soon they will be less than 10%. Cisco's router revenue is FLAT (not still growing) Chambers called it 1/2 of 1%, and even Fujitsu is gaining marketshare in routers over Cisco.

Cisco's router revenue is flat to down, Its Remote acces is nothing much to speak of. Its Stratacom switches are getting soundly whipped in the marketplace by Ascend. It does not have any products or installed base in the Carrrier space (Lucents today's announcement). Intel and 3Com have a brand in the low end market.

All Cisco has are the Catalyst switches (which accounted for ALL of Cisco's growth). And its IOS (lock in) is not applicable in areas other than the enterprise.

Dude you should sell your Cisco pronto!! and buy BAY NOW. Heres an article for you to read on Cisco's and the industry growth. Note the reference to Cisco "LYING" to keep the stock price high, by one of the analysts.
