Harry and Robert Florin - Re:"Intel Inside"

Let me add another, much more significant issue, to the Intel Inside monicker.

The label "Intel Inside" has come to mean: It's Intel - If I buy it, it will work.

To see the other side of this argument, one merely needs to browse the Cyrix forum of Silicon Investor. Every few days another poor soul is describing the purchase of a Cyrix machine that has an "unapproved" motherboard, a heat sink that is under-powered, an early 6x86 stepping that has problems, and any number of other tales of woe - all signifying that their purchase (of a non-Intel machine) has ended up in one disaster or another.

Intel Inside has come to mean - QUALITY.
