Sam, as you know, I ignore all PR and go straight for the 10Qs. Maxtor's recent one really doesn't look too bad (if you can ignore the debt; heck, even if you don't, it's not much worse that WDC's). No funny business that I can see. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. The only thing that matters is areal density leadership. It's true, they really don't have money for expansion and Hyundai certainly isn't going to give them any. So they need a credible exit strategy.

You did a remarkable job speaking for my views on APM. Although I don't think bankruptcy is in the cards this year. I hope not anyway, as I'll have to pay the damn tax, which would be huge. It's amazing how long companies in these situations can find capital and delay the inevitable. Of course, the conditions attached to this "beggar capital" tend to be extremely unfriendly to the common shareholder.
