Clifton Mining Company Initiates Underground Mining Operations,Announces Date of Annual MeetingALPINE, Utah, May 27 William D. Moeller, chairmanand chief executive officer of Clifton Mining Company (OTC BulletinBoard: CFTN Alberta: CFB), today announced that underground miningoperations have begun on the company's Smelter Tunnel mine site.
To conduct the underground operations, Clifton has contractedwith the Salt Lake City office of Patrick Harrison Constructors,Inc., an international contract-mining company, while Cliftoncontinues its open-pit mining efforts on the Smelter Tunnellocation. The underground operations are expected to contribute anadditional 150-200 tons of ore per day to existing stockpiles.
"As mill production continues to increase, we recognize theimportance of establishing sufficient stockpiles to feed suchproduction," said Moeller. "It is gratifying to see ore being loadedon to trucks and sent to the mill for processing. We have workedlong and hard for these tangible results."
