Sounds like another marketing nightmare. The PR ratings were measured in systems with an L2 and are not appropriate for use with cacheless systems. If the rumors are true, PB has a system which runs at 208 MHz, probably performs like a <225? MHz system, and is being sold as a 266 MHz "equivalent system." And the FPU performance is sub-standard to boot.

PB should suck up a few bucks on these systems and include an L2. The damage to Cyrix's reputation could be long lasting if OEM's start selling junk systems.
