Dennis --

Didn't Mory say they were strong with RBOCs and ISPS?

This news release should be sent to every CEO of every RBOC in the US. They know it's coming. They know it's inevitable. But now they can take their heads out of their text books and hear the distant thunder of invading troops:

<<<This is NTT's first year-on-year decline for telephone subscriptions, although the company has posted some month-to- month declines.

According to NTT, the number of subscriptions surged for Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) lines and leased lines, such as those related to data-communications services. Subscriptions to ISDN services nearly doubled to 2.62 million contracts, an increase of 1.37 million contracts from the previous year.

This clearly illustrates the trend of shrinking telephone services and growing data communication services.

NTT posted declines in earnings and profits for the first time in four years. Its sales fell 0.8 percent to 6,322.3 billion yen (US$46 billion), and its pretax profit fell 2.6 percent, to 356.6 billion yen (US$2.6 billion). . . . >>>
