May 26, 1998 Acclaim, Midway, GT Interactive, Interplay, and Microprose make up the first wave of US publishers which have signed on to develop and distribute software for Sega Dreamcast.
"Third party publishers are excited by the performance of Dreamcast prototype games they've been able to create in a short amount of time," said Sega of America's President and COO, Bernie Stolar, at today's North American unveiling of the console. "They'll have more than a year, and a great deal of Sega support, to make breakthrough games for Dreamcast."
