Sal, I agree Apple didn't have much chance against msft; my view is that Apple was seduced by the high margins on their bundled hardware/os systems until it was too late; if they'd been willing to cut hardware costs earlier (i.e. introduce the Mac at $1500 instead of $2500, or allow clones to develop & unbundled the os) they might have had a real opportunity. I fear Sun has made the same mistake. Intel and Microsoft between them have managed to make the PC hardware market truly competitive, with the actual PC manufacturers (assemblers would be more accurate at this point) operating on paper-thin margins. Both msft and intc should be credited with real incite in managing this "commoditization" of PC hardware. We'll all be interested in what you have to say, but as far as 0-admin NetPC's go, we'll see; those "initiatives" seem pretty defensive and technically immature at this point. From the outside, the ZANPC looks like the Windows hammer coming down on something not particulary nail-like. Cheers, Dan.
