CyberShop Teams With the Microsoft Plaza, @Home Network and PointCast to Drive Customers to Site

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 28, 1998--CyberShop(R) International, Inc. (Nasdaq: CYSP) today announced relationships with three leading Internet services, the Microsoft(R) Plaza (Nasdaq: MSFT), @Home Network(TM) (Nasdaq: ATHM) and the PointCast Network.

The agreements add to CyberShop's growing list of marketing and advertising relationships it has entered into since its IPO last March. The Company recently signed a deal with Excite, Inc. (Nasdaq: XCIT), making CyberShop the most prominently presented online department store for the 20 million monthly users of the Excite and WebCrawler services. CyberShop also entered into a two-year agreement with GeoCities (www.geocities.com) making it the featured retailer for the fastest growing Internet community.

"These alliances will further enhance our presence on the Internet and will drive additional traffic to the cybershop.com site," said Jill Markus, vice president of business development at CyberShop. "Creating relationships with Internet leaders, such as the Microsoft Plaza, @Home Network and PointCast, is not only helping us reach new customers, but reinforces our position as a leading upscale online retailer."

CyberShop will be a featured site in the Microsoft Plaza (http://www.plaza.msn.com) through its 18-month Interactive Merchant Agreement with Microsoft's popular online shopping channel. Under terms of the agreement, visitors can reach CyberShop through other Microsoft properties, including MSNBC, Microsoft Start page, MSN Premier, and msn.com. In addition, CyberShop will participate in a variety of promotional opportunities, including the professional gift guide, Pamela's Picks, and feature new items in the Plaza Specials areas.

CyberShop also signed an eight-month agreement with @Home Network for an extensive broadband interactive marketing campaign designed to drive customers to cybershop.com. @Home Network, the leader in high-speed Internet services via the cable infrastructure, will give users high-speed, direct access to cybershop.com which offers over 40,000 products from more than 400 manufacturers. CyberShop will work directly with @Home Network s in-house creative department to develop new e-commerce advertising models that leverage the fully integrated multimedia capabilities of @Home s ad specifications to promote CyberShop's exclusive product promotions and seasonal specials. During the program, Cybershop will also incorporate video demonstrations of products, increasing the sales potential within the broadband advertisements.

In addition, CyberShop signed a nine-month advertising deal with PointCast, the inventor and leader in broadcast news via the Internet and corporate Intranets. Targeted banner advertising on the PointCast Network will give PointCast viewers easy access to CyberShop's Gifts Wrapped & Ready service, which allows customers to have select gifts elegantly wrapped with a personalized greeting card and shipped within 24 hours.

CyberShop provides a shopping experience that incorporates traditional department store and mail order features into an easy-to-use and convenient online shopping environment.
