Over 1.1 million shares were block traded by Goldman Sachs on 5-21-98. The stock changed hands in the mid 13's. This could signify that a "warning" is coming or that the quarter will be less than expectations. Presumably, someone wanted out, and somebody else wanted in...Unless it was CS that was buying (do they have an announced stock repurchase program?)

This is one sick puppy. And I am long, and have been for years and have been averaging down as the price declined. Will all the "smart people" on the Street who advise: "Dump your losers the minute they fail to have an earnings disappointment," be correct in this instance? Earnings shortfalls are like cockroaches. Rarely, if ever, is there "just one."

Which brings up this subject: What about the long term survivablity of CS? Certainly no white knight has appeared to save the day.
