Zbyslaw -- The CEO of C&W was just on CNBC answering questions about their acquisition of MCI's Internet backbone. "Billion dollar business in US . . . future of communications lies with Internet. . . [price $625 million]. . . bought backbone network switches, nodes, routers, and contracts with hundreds and hundreds of service providers. . . . [sector] growing at 50 - 100% a year. . . we will continue to upgrade. . . [asked about reasons MCI sold] . . . what was a necessity [for them] allowed us to buy a business that wouldn't have been for sale otherwise. . ." Asked about Asia: "Asia frail. . . growth slowing. . . Hong Kong Telecom is good. . . performs well even when market gets sluggish. . . we're in for long haul. . . This is the great market of the next century. . ."
