Maxell, Re: K6-2-300 is selling for $281 and is equivalent to PII-400

Yes. When you run 3D Winbench 98 using DirectX6 and a
3DNow! optimized driver.

The question is, do you purchase a system just to run
3D Winbench 98 to realize your saving ?

Based on Tom's benchmark, it is more fair to say
that K6-2 is now on par with same clock speed PII when
running 3D games(provided that the 3D game you run is
optimized for 3DNow!, either their own engine or through
DirectX).

Go to AMD's site and check which game vendor is
behind this. The most noticeable one is Quake II.

So if you want to compare the price, it is more like
K6-2-300 vs PII 300/333.

According to Tom's(again) latest Intel roadmap, PII300/333
will be selling for 310/420 by June 7 and 210/320 by July 28.
