Just thinking aloud here--this seems incomplete without a boxmaker (or two) on board as well. As I understand it, the boxmaker is the center of gravity, the one that bundles the software with the PC sale and really launches use of the WaveMeter. That leads to at least two possibilities:
First, WAVX is at E3 to sign-up content-providers so as to be better positioned to get boxmakers to accept the WaveMeter on the motherboard, and to go along with the revenue division proposal. If that's the case, today's news is very helpful and promising, but not the end-game for WAVX by any means.
Second, WAVX has the boxmaker deals in the wings, and we're likely to hear about them after today's close or tomorrow morning. Otherwise, WAVX's open house seems premature. The financial community wants to know when revenues will be realized, and what they likely will be. This is not a good question to be dancing around; it would be better to wait until definitive, non-confidential information can be discussed. To a lesser degree, content-providers (for whom E3 is all about), will also want to know who the boxmakers are and when this will all happen.
In view of this, I tend to lean toward possibility no. 2. I think we'll hear tonight, tomorrow, or early next week at the latest. SMSC is an important piece in the puzzle, but it is only a piece.
