Jim, re: Did NSM license 3D now from AMD? Or are they just going to go with the beefed up FPU of the Cayenne core? I'm sure that Cyrix pays nothing to AMD for 3DNow and that it is not a normal licensing agreement. In order to get Cyrix to agree with AMD's limited 3DNwo spec, that AMD had to give up something. Anyway, the Cayenne will have an enhanced FPU & AMD's 3DNow instructions (similar to the WinChip2, but faster). This should make it much faster than the K6-2; similar to Katmai, where you start with a powerful FPU and then add specialized 3D instructions. Pravin.
