I've been living in New Orleans for nine years and love the food here. I do my own cooking most weeknights, but like to eat out when I can. I got to go to Commander's Palace last night. If you haven't heard of it, it is one of the best restaurants in the country and has been around for a long time. Unfortunately, we were on a fixed menu, because it was a large crowd (24), but the Andouille gumbo was excellent, the main course of fish and shrimp was delicious and the chocolate cake dessert was sinful. Best of all, someone else ( my wife's company ) was paying for it :-)) Of course, it was all washed down with some really nice Chardonnay. My wife's sales group made their first ever $1,000,000.00 month, so that was the cause of the celebration. Next time ( $2,000,000.00?), I hope we go to Emeril's. The ex-chef of Commander's owns the place. Tonight, I'm eating some shrimp creole that I cooked. Downside? Way too easy to put on weight here :-( |
