Stratford Acquisition Corp. Announces its First Shipment of Pre-Packaged Mortar Products to the United States and a New Product
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 19, 1998--Stratford Acquisition Corp. (OTC:HARD) announced Tuesday that it has sold one truckload of its pre-packaged Novacrete MP and Novacrete MPR products to the second member of its Preferred Customer Program (PCP), Neese Material Supply Co. Inc. of Greensboro, N.C.
The company will ship the order from existing inventory this week and anticipates shipping a second truckload of product to its Canadian distributor, CPD Services, later this month. Each truckload will represent approximately 44,000 pounds or 800 pre-packaged 55-pound bags of mortar product.
The company has also announced today that it will officially launch its fast-setting mortar product under the name Novacrete FC on June 1. Novacrete FC represents the first of five new products that the company intends to launch by this September. Novacrete FC is specifically designed for repairs of concrete surfaces that need to be placed back into service within 24 hours.
The company will be marketing the product for use on roads, sidewalks, airport runways and manufacturing facilities where the timely completion of the repair problem is critical. Novacrete FC begins to harden within 15 minutes from installation and can accommodate vehicular traffic within 24 hours.
As a fast-setting product, contractors will have the additional comfort that the fast-setting features of the product will repel impairment of the repaired surface by vandalism.
Neese Material Supply is a well-established distributor of construction products that services the construction industry throughout the southeastern portion of the United States. By distributing its products through Neese Material Supply, the company is now able to market its products in one of the best construction markets in the United States.
Later this month, two company sales representatives will be meeting with owners of outlets serviced by Neese Material Supply to provide product demonstrations and technical support to end-users of the products.
As the company has done in Canada, by teaming up with established distributors, it has gained immediate access to hundreds of outlets for construction products and has eliminated the need to recruit and train a large sales and marketing staff to sell products directly into the marketplace.
In conjunction with the PCP program, the company will initiate a major marketing campaign today through introductory letters to its Canadian distributor's 267 sales outlets and will begin visiting approximately 100 of these outlets over the next 60 days.
The company has also engaged in preliminary discussions with a distributor in British Columbia, Canada, which would enable the company to have its products available for sale through the seven southern provinces of Canada by mid-year.
As the final leg of this month's marketing campaign the company will be introducing its products line to a large distributor in New Jersey and two other distributors in the Washington, D.C. area this week.
Daniel W. Dowe, Stratford's president and chief executive officer, stated, "the entire company is thrilled to be selling our products in the United States, especially since our original timetable provided for us to introduce our products in the U.S. in September.
"Our salespeople are doing a great job at seeking out every opportunity to sell our products and to ensure that our distribution partners are totally satisfied with our products and the marketing support that we provide. The preliminary test results for Novacrete FC were outstanding and we are expecting similar results with the four other products that are under development, as well."
