WOW steve you read my mind... I was just going to post this from the Yahoo thread: "THE HIGAIN 98 introduced by PAIRGAIN is the first and only in the market to operate over 11 miles older versions only useful for only two to three miles, for anyone who knows how distance is important in Telecom business let me explain if you live 5 miles away from your nearest telephone exchanges equipment that means in the past you could not get this HDSL services and in THE OTHER HAND YOUR TELECOM PROVIDER will not bother to install a HDSL Equipments since it wont operate,now your TELECOM providers can give you this service by installing these HDSL equipments becuse there is no distance problems any more. " This means any new HDSL lines will probably be Pair's simply because it is well priced and goes about 5 times farther than their nearest competitor Adtran. ADTRAN IS DEAD! This is why the ANALysts were hyping ADTN... it is the last hurrah. Time to start shorting ADTRAN. Graham P.S. this is my opinion but think about it... Pair will slaughter them.
