Zeev, <<then you'll hang me on my own pettard>> As long as you are going to line up for the punishment, should it come, you may as well know what, specifically, that punishment is. It is actually said to be "hoisted" by your own petard. A petard was an explosive set to crash a wall or gate. To be "hoisted" by one was to have it blow up in your face, which, of course, gave your remains a moment of flight (or the appearance of being hoisted as if by a rope) before they came crashing back to the ground in smoking ruin. I for one do not wish to witness such a sight and wish you (and me) bon chance in your prediction.
