Valley Children's Hospital and WellStar Health System Select Thinking Tools' Think 2000
Risk Assessment and Management Software Chosen as Preferred Solution for Hospitals' Year 2000 Problem
MONTEREY, Calif.--May 26, 1998-Helping to meet the demands of today's challenging health care environment, Thinking Tools, Inc. (NASDAQ:TSIM) today announced that it has signed contracts with both Valley Children's Hospital and WellStar Health System for Think 2000, its Year 2000 risk assessment and management simulation software.
"After researching numerous risk management products, we determined that Think 2000 provided the best road map for our Year 2000 remediation efforts," said Bo Crutchfield, director of business continuity, WellStar Health System. "We are excited about Think 2000's ability to visually display the dependencies between business functions and technology resources. By conducting a Year 2000 simulation on all our systems, we will be able to show the impact that Year 2000 will have on the hospital network. This will be very helpful in board presentations and to cost justify Year 2000 and other IT spending efforts."
Valley Children's Hospital is also implementing Think 2000.
"With a new 216-bed, $170 million facility underway, Valley Children's Hospital recognizes the importance and immediacy of assuring that our information systems and support operations are Year 2000 compliant," said Wil Ladewig, Year 2000 program manager, Valley Children's Hospital. "Think 2000 will help us prioritize our Year 2000 remediation efforts and get our new facility up and running quickly with systems that are compliant."
Think 2000 is an interactive business simulation solution that will enable both organizations to assess the overall business impact of problems associated with the Year 2000 date change. The product maps interdependencies between business functions and technical resources and simulates possible project plan scenarios. The results provide health care executives with answers to questions like: "What should we fix, and when?" It ultimately will help both health care organizations understand their Year 2000 business risks, prioritize remediation projects and document activities in the event of audits or litigation.
Two Health Organizations Select Think 2000
"We are pleased to provide two of the leaders in the health care industry with the latest in Year 2000 simulation software," said Moshe Zarmi, president and CEO, Thinking Tools. "Think 2000 is well suited for the special complexities of hospitals and health care providers. By using Think 2000 both organizations will be well positioned for current and future success beyond the Year 2000."
