Mr. Gull,

Thanks for your interesting tidbits.

Since you haven't seen fit to read Dr. Maduna's recent speech, might I point out that several different ministries are about to sign off on Section 24. Apparently this will be a new thing in RSA, but it goes to the underlying theme: provide jobs for lots of people as SUF has or, do nothing as De Beers has, (e.g. are the "heirs" out buying their new Ferarris yet?), and more importantly, demonstrate that in the longer term, the ability to explore and develop will spur new growth and jobs, very much unlike the recent history of De Beers.

There is a part of me that kind of hopes that De Beers roughs up the "heirs" in much the same fashion as they and their friends at Anglo American have done to SUF.

As an aside, you don't suppose that the governing people in RSA have figured out that the best interests of RSA lie in breaking up the monoply that Anglo/De Beers is?

Also, some of us Canadians, who have tried to converse with the George Burne, from De Beers Canada (not the US 'cause you, and some Cubans can't get in) find that he does not return calls, nor do his lackeys, but that he will refer people to the original posting of Infoman. I actually have a copy of his reply to a concerned investor, and the only response he had was to refer, on De Beers letterhead, to the propaganda of Infoman (at this point is is important to note that neither Gull or Infoman have disputed that their postings are fictitious and misleading, or their true motivations), on the SI thread!
(send me a private message with a fax number and I'll send a copy)

Now, as time passes, it seems obvious that neither of these shills for De Beers (Infoman and Gull) have the will to dispute any claims against them, except for usel
ess rhetoric. I wonder if Mr. Burne might actually be (or pay for) Infoman? Not too much of a stretch.

And the folks at De Beers wonder why their relations with the government of RSA are so poor.

Infoman, Gull, respond and show me how I'm wrong.
